There were more than 85 entrants for this years "merriest crossbreed dog" contest and each of them was proud to stalk the cat walk in front of the jury and the public. Meanwhile, one could buy tickets for the raffle, sample home made bakery, rummage around the flea market, especially the section with second hand designer label clothes. SOS Animal presented information panels describing its aims and activities. There was live music and show by sponsoring artists, such as the "Welly Family" and Elvis imitator "Mike Jones", who made the audience go wild.

Finally, the time for the prize giving ceremony for the merriest crossbreed dog had come: There were prizes for three of them, plus another one for the funniest and wittiest character and one more for the kindest senior dog. There were standing ovations for all of them as they were presenting themselves on the red carpet again. From the hands of Kate Mentink, councilwoman at the Calvià town hall, the owners of the winning mascots could take their trophies.

Later, when our treasurer summed up the day, he couldn't hide a satisfied smile - and a plus of 12.500 Euros in his cash box. This success is a reward for our efforts through the year, and at the same time an incentive to make next year's SOS Animal Day even bigger and better.
